PS Cafe @ i12 Katong

We were looking forward to the opening of PS Cafe since we saw the "Coming Soon" signs at i12 Katong back in January. Finally, it opened, and we decided to go there for a late lunch after our morning movie at the mall. It was my first time at a PS Cafe but not so for the sis.

When we arrive, the lunch crowd was starting to leave. The restaurant was quite noisy as the chatter from the diners were bouncing off the reflective tiles of the floor. The decor of the restaurant in general was nice, very early 20th-century atas hotel feel.

We ordered the two things I really wanted to try - Truffle Fries ($17) and Sticky Date Pudding ($15). Learning from our previous mistake of ordering too much food, we decided to get just one main - Laksa Leaf Pesto ($25) and added Cafe Lattes ($7 each) for our drinks. I only saw the 1-1 mimosa when we were leaving... too bad.

The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The truffle wasn't too pungent, so it was acceptable to me. The laksa pesto was surprisingly good. The sauce was creamy and coated each pasta strand with its unctuous goodness that is scented by the laksa leaves. The sticky date pudding wasn't too sweet, although we couldn't discern any date in the pudding 😅. The vanilla ice-cream tasted homemade rather than from a store, so that was a plus. Overall I give this 4 Aunty Karens. The food was good (maybe we were really hungry?), and the service was adequate.

4 out of 5 stars on the Aunty Karen scale
