Rifle Range Nature Park & Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee @ Upper Thomson

Today, we went to the Rifle Range Nature Park, a new walking trail that has been popular with Tik-Tokers and IGers. We wanted to avoid the crowd so since the sis had taken a day off from work, we thought it is a good time to go.

The way to get there is via an overhead bridge that is connected to the Beauty World Centre. The trail is well thought out with interesting posts with animals indigenous to the area, like the flying squirrel. There is an observation deck, Colugo Deck, which gives you a bird's eye view of the trail below.

We took a long walk past the Central Water Catchment to the TreeTop walk to Windsor Nature Park, about 12km away, and ended up having lunch at Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee Upper Thomson. There were eateries along the whole row of shophouses, but this one called out to us.

I got the Original Wanton Mee ($5.30 for regular) while the sis got the Black Sauce Wanton Mee ($5.30 for regular) and also the Fried Chicken Wings ($6.50) to share.

The noodles were very different from the local wanton noodles. The noodles are thicker than the meekia and the sauce is different, without the usual chilli sauce. The chicken wings were great. I guess I just love fried food, especially chicken wings. Overall, I give this 3 Aunty Karens. The service was okay. The food was forgettable. I will probably want to try other places along this row of shophouses than return.

3 out of 5 stars on the Aunty Karen scale
