$1.30 Dim Sum Bedok & Chatters

Decided to go to this dim sum place at a coffee shop after my wheel yoga class. Frankly, I don't really enjoy this particular class and I usually feel sore and tired, so I have been skipping classes more often than for this class than my other classes. I needed something to motivate me to go, so I started searching for places to go for lunch after class and that is how I found out about $1.30 Dim Sum Bedok . At $1.30 a plate, it sounds like a good deal that is hard to pass up. The coffee shop where the stall is located was not crowded when I got there after yoga. I used the paper menu to record my order - har gow , siu mai , steam yam cake , and fried bean curd roll (Total $5.20). The dim sum is average. I want to say you get what you paid for, but I do think compared with the food you get at other places for twice the price, I would say this is still worth it. Khao Hom By Rung Mama @ Katong Square

Another one of Google Maps recommendations. This place, Khao Hom By Rung Mama popped up when I was checking out places with good Thai Green Tea. I had some Thai Green Tea at the Pasar Malam and now it is my favourite drink of the moment. There aren't many Thai food places around here, the cheap and good one I go to at the hawker centre recently closed down. So I was keen to try this being that it is in the 'hood and had good reviews. And they have Thai Green Tea. This was what we (the younger sis and I) ordered: Thai Mango Salad Mixed with Homemade Sauce ($8), Clear Tom Yum Seafood ($12), Crispy Stuffed Chicken Wings ($12 for 3), Red Ruby ($6) and Homemade Ice Thai Green Milk Tea ($4 each). Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu

Wanted to get some new gear as I've signed up for Yoga classes with PA so we headed to Decathlon at Chai Chee. It took us about an hour of walking to get here, passing the private estate of Frankle Ave. It probably took a bit longer because we were ogling at some of the houses there. After exploring the cavernous store and buying more stuff than I intended, we headed to Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu nearby for lunch. They only have 2 choices - dry or soup so its easy. We also got the fried chicken wings. Both the soup and dry noodles were good. I guess when you only do 1 thing, you can do it well. Incidentally, I am normally a dry noodle person but when it comes to YTF, I prefer soup. I don't fancy the sauce for the dry version all over my noodles. Do you like yours dry or with soup? I give this 4 Aunty Karens. Mainly for the fried chicken wings.
