We visited a new "restaurant" in the basement food area of i12 Katong- Kei Kaisendon @ i12 Katong. It is more like a stall at the food hall with a few tables next to it. There are a few Kei Kaisendon around the island but I've never tried any of them before so we (the younger sis and I) decided to give it a try.
We both got the regular set KEI Signature Kaisendon ($18.90) which came with a small bowl of salad and a bowl of clam miso soup. It came loaded with chunks of well-seasoned sashimi including salmon, tuna, and hotate. I like that the sashimi was thick cut instead of the stingy thin slices that some places serve covering the rice to pretend that there's a lot of kaisen in the don. This kaisendon, on the other hand, was filled with a good amount of sashimi. I give this 3.5 Aunty Karens.
