Supernova @ Tanjong Katong

2 glasses of iced latte on a table in an alfresco cafe setting

Another Sunday and we are out looking for good eats in the 'hood. We decide to venture further afield to Tanjong Katong for our cafe hunting, to Supernova.

It was crowded inside, so when they offered an alfresco table, we took it as we didn't want to wait. We ordered the Fried Chicken French Toast ($24.50) - Shokupan french toast, fried chicken, hot maple, compound garlic butter, and Steak Hash ($26.90) - steak (180g), crispy potatoes, kale & red onions, organic sunny eggs, green sauce. For coffee, we got the Iced Latte ($6.80 each).

a plate of fried chicken on french toast with a stick of compound better between them and a small metal bowl of maple syrup a plate of crispy potatoes, kale and red onions covered with a green sauce with 2 sunny-side up eggs on top

The hot maple and compound garlic butter really made the fried chicken french toast dish. It elevated an average dish to a great one. The steak has also average; I don't really like kale. I have no idea what is in the green sauce. The latte was also average. Great that it was not a small glass with lots of ice. I give this 3.5 Aunty Karens. I feel that it is kind of overhyped. The food is good, but not memorable.

3.5 out of 5 stars on the Aunty Karen scale
