Ramen Dining Keisuke Tokyo @ Parkway Parade

It's work-from-home day today for the sis. And the niece is over, so all three of us went for lunch at Parkway Parade. We didn't want to go to the food court, we decided on Ramen Dining Keisuke Tokyo (Parkway Parade) as we have not tried it before. This is my third Keisuke restaurant, after Charcoal-grill & Salad Bar Keisuke and Hamburg Steak Keisuke @ Tanjong Pagar. I have high expectations as my experiences at those two places were high in terms of the food and the service.

For the 2 other restaurants, there was a free salad bar with that awesome coffee jelly with every main that you order. Here, there is only free-flow bean sprouts and hard-boiled eggs 😂

We got the Keisuke Green Tea Cola ($3.80), Keisuke Yuzu Cola ($3.80), Pork Gyoza ($6 for 6), Black Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with Flavoured Egg ($14.90), and Shoyu Ramen ($11.50).

The drinks were refreshing but kind of expensive. The pork gyoza wasn't spectacular. Just normal gyoza. The ramen was the belle of the ball here, as it should be. Mine was the black spicy tonkotsu ramen and it was a hearty broth full of flavour. I was worried initially as it looked like there was a layer of oil on the surface of the soup, but it was not. It was very slurp-worthy. The flavoured eggs were cooked just right. The noodles were cooked al-dente and were springy and soaked up the ramen broth well. The char siew was tender and the serving was generous.

I tried the broth in my niece's shoyu ramen. It was also packed full of flavour, although I think the black spicy one tastes better.

Overall, I give this 3 Aunty Karens. While the ramen was very tasty, it is pricy. And compared with other Keisuke restaurants, this doesn't feel like it provides value for money without the free-flow salad bar. If they included free-flow coffee jelly I might rate it higher.

3 out of 5 stars on the Aunty Karen scale

Update (October 22, 2023): Saw that the restaurant has been boarded up. I can't tell if it's for renovation or if the space has been taken over by a new tenant. There has been some shake up in terms of the shops at Parkway Parade so we shall see.
